Montenegro Film Festival gains FIAPF accreditation

The 39th Montenegro Film Festival in Herceg Novi has officially opened, marking a significant milestone as the only newly accredited festival in Southeast Europe by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF). The event features various regional productions, including Serbian films such as ‘3 nedelje posle’, ‘Pukotina u ledu’, and ‘Oče naš’, which are competing for the Golden Mimosa award. Actor Bogdan Diklić was honored with the ‘Milan Žmukić’ award for his contributions to cinema.

In Serbia, the Slobodni univerzitet (Free University) in Niš has expressed formal support for the Niš Film Festival organized by the Association of Film Actors of Serbia. This move comes amid local tensions regarding the traditional ‘Filmski susreti’ festival, which has faced disruptions due to disputes between organizers and city authorities. The university encouraged citizens to support the actors' festival as an alternative to political interference in cultural events.
