Film festivals scheduled in Romania for September

Several film events are scheduled in Romania this September. The Alexandre Trauner Art/Film Festival (ATAFF) will host a retrospective at the TISZApART Cinema in Szolnok to honor the 100th anniversary of József Romvári. Romvári was a prominent Hungarian production designer involved in nearly 200 films, including works such as ‘Mephisto’ and ‘Josephine Baker’. The series, beginning September 11, will feature rarely screened Hungarian films including ‘Hol volt, hol nem volt…’ and ‘Örökség’.

Additionally, the Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF) is organizing outdoor film screenings in Szászfenes. From September 11 to 20, daily screenings will take place at Poligon Park starting at 20:30. The program includes a variety of genres, such as historical dramas, comedies, and documentaries. Featured films include ‘Málaga utca’ and the Danish black comedy ‘The Last Viking’.
