Film premieres in Zagreb and Novi Sad showcase regional cinema

On June 26, the Kaptol Boutique Cinema in Zagreb will host the gala premiere of "Slomljeni teret", a new Croatian drama directed by Mario Kanaet. The film explores a volatile relationship that escalates into violence, examining how personal frustration can lead to extremist ideologies.

On June 22, the Cultural Center in Novi Sad will screen the documentary "Vukovar – tišina između spomenika" by Vuk Damnjanović. The film investigates how memorials and public memory shape contemporary identity in Vukovar, addressing the legacy of war‑time monuments and minority rights.

Both events are free to the public and reflect a growing focus on cinema that interrogates social tensions and historical memory in the Balkans.
