Financial education initiatives expand for students in Austria and Germany

Educational initiatives are expanding to improve financial literacy among students and young professionals in Austria and Germany.

In Austria, the Vienna Stock Exchange (Wiener Börse) has released free teaching materials focused on the stock market and capital markets. These resources are intended for schools in Vienna, Lower Austria, and Burgenland. The initiative aligns with a national financial education strategy, anticipating increased integration of economic and financial education in higher secondary levels starting in the 2027/28 school year.

In Germany, the educational company Dr. Jordan is launching a new seminar titled ‘Financial Education for Youth and Young Adults’ beginning October 20, 2026. The program is designed for students, apprentices, and those entering the workforce. The curriculum covers practical topics such as personal budgeting, avoiding debt, investing in stocks and ETFs, insurance, rental agreements, and tax returns.
