Financial institutions in Romania expand literacy initiatives
Financial institutions in Romania are expanding initiatives to promote financial literacy among students and the general public. The Institute for Financial Studies (ISF), the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF), and the Association of Faculties of Economics in Romania (AFER) have strengthened their partnership to enhance economic education through various academic programs.
Key upcoming initiatives include the fifth edition of the Investment Academy, the SmartFIN@ISF vocational training seminars, the ASF Academic Laboratory, and the ninth edition of Start2Learn for personal finance. These programs aim to equip the next generation with the ability to critically evaluate information and make responsible financial decisions in a rapidly changing technological landscape.
Additionally, the National Bank of Romania (BNR) Timiș Regional Branch has implemented community-focused outreach. During the UVT Liberty Marathon, the BNR established an interactive zone that provided over 1,100 participants, including students and parents, with practical lessons on budgeting, saving, and money management through games and direct dialogue.
