Finnish police seize multiple speeders and drunk drivers in recent arrests

Police in several Finnish municipalities arrested drivers for serious traffic offences. In Kuhmo, a driver in his twenties was caught traveling 103 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. In the Meri‑Lapland area, a driver was recorded at 170 km/h where the limit is 120 km/h, and another vehicle was stopped at 143 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

In North Savonia, the police reported the highest number of drunk‑driving arrests, while in Puumala a woman was detained twice on the same day after breath‑alcohol readings of 1.12 ‰ and 1.08 ‰, leading to a driving ban and licence seizure. A separate incident involved a boat driver with a breath‑alcohol level of 0.56 ‰, also resulting in arrest.

These actions illustrate a coordinated effort by Finnish police to enforce speed limits and alcohol‑related traffic laws across the country.
