Finland weather forecast: heatwave expected this weekend

Finland is expected to experience a temporary cooling period followed by a return to summer-like heat. After a rainy Monday and a mid-week period where temperatures in many areas are expected to remain below 20 degrees Celsius, warm air from the south will arrive.

Forecasts indicate that the upcoming weekend holds high potential for heatwave conditions, particularly in the southern parts of the country, with temperatures potentially reaching 18–24 degrees Celsius on Sunday. While the south and central regions enjoy clearer skies, the northern parts of the country may face more unsettled weather, including rain and thunder showers.

Wind conditions are expected to be gusty throughout the weekend. On the Gulf of Bothnia, wind speeds could reach 15 meters per second during gusts. A new low-pressure system arriving Monday is expected to bring wetter weather and stronger winds across the country, potentially causing isolated tree falls.
