Conversely, parts of Southern and Western Finland, as well as Eastern Lapland, saw less rainfall than normal, with a low of 11.9 mm at Uusikaupunki Itätulli. Lightning activity was also notably lower than average, with approximately 8,400 strikes compared to the typical 21,000.

As autumn progresses, the weather outlook has shifted toward unseasonably warm conditions for late September. Duty meteorologist Jani Sorsa reports that temperatures in southern Finland are forecast to rise between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius during the final week of the month. In northern Finland, temperatures are expected to reach between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius. While rain may persist in eastern areas from Kainuu to Eastern Lapland through Sunday, most of the country is expected to see clear and sunny conditions. A single rain area may bring windy conditions to central and northern parts on Tuesday, but high pressure is expected to peak mid-week, leading to drier and sunnier weather toward the end of the week.
