Finland weather forecast predicts cool and rainy August
Long-term weather forecasts for Finland indicate a period of cooler and wetter conditions than average for the remainder of August. While a brief warm spell may bring temperatures above 20 degrees Celsius in southern regions toward the end of this week, significant heatwaves are not expected.
Meteorologist Joanna Rinne explains that the relative coolness in Finland is linked to high-pressure systems over Central and Western Europe. These systems are driving cool air from the west into the Fennoscandian region, preventing the formation of heat-inducing high-pressure situations over Finland.
Looking ahead to next week, the forecast suggests increased rainfall across much of the country, interspersed with periods of sunshine. The trend of cooler and wetter weather is also projected to persist into the latter half of August, though predictability decreases for the period toward the end of the month.
