Finland weather: Widespread rain and wind warnings
A low-pressure system is bringing widespread rain and wind to much of Finland. Starting in Lapland, precipitation is expected to spread across nearly the entire country. In Lapland, rainfall could exceed 20 millimeters in some areas, while other regions may see between a few and ten millimeters.
Wind warnings are in effect across wide areas, with gusts potentially exceeding 15 meters per second in parts of North Ostrobothnia, North Savo, and Central Finland. Local forest fire warnings have also been issued for southern Finland due to the conditions. Temperatures are expected to reach approximately 24 degrees Celsius in the south and southeast, while Lapland will remain cooler at 10–16 degrees Celsius.
The unsettled weather is expected to transition toward drier conditions by Thursday as a high-pressure ridge moves into the southern and central parts of the country, bringing calmer and warmer weather.
