Finland's Puppy Live attracts millions of viewers
The Finnish slow-TV program ‘Pentulive’, or Puppy Live, has gained significant international attention, attracting an estimated 10 million viewers worldwide. The sixth season of the show follows a litter of six Lagotto Romagnolo puppies as they grow and develop.
Produced by the Finnish public broadcaster Yle, the livestream provides around-the-clock coverage of the puppies in a private breeder's home. The broadcast focuses on everyday milestones, such as feeding, sleeping, and the puppies' first unsteady steps. To ensure the animals' well-being, the filming is conducted without disturbing their natural environment, with cameras strictly focused on the puppy nest.
This season features a mother dog named Hilkka, who gave birth to the litter on October 10. The puppies—Bella, Luna, Pepe, Enzo, Dante, and Milo—received their names from over 46,000 viewer suggestions. The program is scheduled to continue until mid-December, when the puppies are old enough to go to their new owners.
