Finnish media trends show significant shift toward digital reading
According to the 2026 National Media Research (KMT) results, media consumption in Finland continues to shift toward digital platforms. Yhteishyvä, a customer magazine from SOK, has become the most widely read magazine in Finland, reaching over 2 million readers through print and digital channels. It is followed by Kesko's Pirkka, which reaches 1.7 million readers.
Among subscription-based consumer media, Me Naiset is the most popular, reaching nearly one million readers. While customer magazines like Yhteishyvä and Pirkka still rely heavily on print, both saw significant growth in digital readership compared to the previous year.
Local news outlets like Laitilan Sanomat are also experiencing this trend. The publication reported a total weekly reach of 16,600, a significant increase from 15,000 in 2022. This growth is driven almost entirely by digital readers, as print readership for the outlet has declined from 13,100 to 10,300 over the same period.
