Finns Party overtakes National Coalition Party in Finnish polls
In a recent Yle poll, the Finns Party has overtaken the National Coalition Party in support for the first time this parliamentary term. The Finns Party received 16.5 percent support, while the National Coalition Party followed at 16.3 percent.
Prime Minister Petteri Orpo attributed the decline in his party's support to the responsibilities of governing and the fact that economic improvements have not yet reached households. He noted that the government has faced various challenges over the summer but expressed confidence in recovering from such dips.
Data indicates a significant drop in support among women for the National Coalition Party, which has fallen to approximately 12.1 percent. Party officials, including Minister Sari Multala, acknowledged the decline among both men and women and stated that work is needed to restore public trust. Meanwhile, the Finns Party's support has also seen a decrease from its 20.1 percent level in the last parliamentary elections.
