Firaxis Games announces new updates and expansions for Civilization VII

Firaxis Games is expanding the scope of Civilization VII through upcoming updates and expansions. A free update scheduled for later this month will introduce a more realistic Earth map, new Voronoi maps, and improvements to resource generation and diplomacy.

Following this, the developer will release the ‘Arc of Tomorrow’ content update. This addition introduces a fourth era, the Atomic Age, allowing gameplay to span from 1950 into the near future. New features for this era include new buildings, visual updates, the ‘Great Works of Film’ system, multilateral diplomatic agreements, and expanded nuclear gameplay.

Additionally, Firaxis is preparing the ‘Earthrise’ expansion. While specific details remain limited, the expansion is expected to go beyond late-game space missions by introducing mechanics in the Antiquity and Exploration eras that allow players to map stars and alter imperial terrain.
