Fire at Main-Kinzig-Forum in Gelnhausen Disrupts Kreisverwaltung Services

A fire broke out on Saturday morning around 10:45 a.m. in the roof area of the Main‑Kinzig‑Forum in Gelnhausen, above the youth‑office offices. Approximately 90 fire‑fighters from Gelnhausen, Wächtersbach and Maintal responded, using several fire engines, a crane truck, a drone and additional rescue equipment. The blaze was contained without injuries, but the cause remains unclear and the extent of property damage has not been assessed.

The incident forced partial restrictions on the district‑administration services housed in the building. Non‑urgent appointments are to be postponed, many staff are working from home, and the on‑site casino and café bar remain closed. Telephone and digital requests continue to be processed, and services at exterior offices are unaffected.
