Fire breaks out at Galerías Los Naranjos shopping center

A fire occurred on the night of October 17 at the Galerías Los Naranjos shopping center in the El Hatillo municipality, Miranda state. The blaze originated in the electrical plant room of the Plaza’s supermarket located on the ground floor.

Local authorities, including El Hatillo Civil Protection, Baruta Civil Protection, and the Caracas Fire Department, coordinated to control the flames by midnight. The rapid intervention prevented human casualties or injuries. El Hatillo Mayor Fernando Melena indicated that a significant electrical fluctuation, which affected several areas of Caracas, may have caused the failure that led to the fire. Investigations are ongoing to confirm the exact cause.
