Fire destroys roof of house in Horodnic de Sus, Romania, no injuries reported
A fire erupted on Friday evening at a household in Horodnic de Sus, Suceava County, Romania, after an emergency call at 18:57. Military firefighters from the Rădăuţi detachment and local volunteer units responded with four fire trucks and an ambulance. The blaze rapidly engulfed the wooden roof, covering roughly 150 m², and threatened neighboring structures. Firefighters contained the fire by 21:05, after about two hours of work, preventing further spread to an adjacent house and an animal shelter. No casualties were reported. The damage includes a destroyed roof, degraded walls and interior possessions. Investigators suspect a defective, uninsulated electrical cable as the likely cause. Authorities reminded residents to have electrical installations inspected regularly, avoid overloading sockets, and refrain from using improvised wiring.
