Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave set for Nintendo Switch 2, launches Sept 17 2026
Nintendo dedicated a 20‑minute Direct on 4 August 2026 to reveal *Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave*, the next entry in the tactical series and an exclusive launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2. The game is scheduled to release worldwide on 17 September 2026.
The story is set in the Dagda Empire, where the Heroic Games tournament in the capital Dagsion grants the winner a single wish. Four protagonists – Cai, Dietrich, Theodora and Leda – enter the competition for personal reasons. Five years later the empire faces the revived demon god Balor; the true protagonist, a soul summoned by the goddess Fortuna (also called Sothis), travels back in time to alter the heroes’ fates and stop Balor. New gameplay elements include “Fortuna’s Blessing”, a time‑rewind mechanic, and the “Blaz Art” skill that consumes unit HP.
Pre‑orders are open, with a special edition offering an artbook, steelbook, character cards and a map poster. A manga adaptation will debut in September, and a one‑minute trailer titled “The Stage Is Set” has been released on Nintendo’s YouTube channel.
