Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave launch

Nintendo confirmed *Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave* as an exclusive launch title for the Switch 2 during a 20-minute Direct on 4 August 2026, with a worldwide release set for 17 September 2026. The game returns to the Dagda Empire, where the Heroic Games tournament in the capital Dagsion grants the winner a single wish. Four protagonists—Cai, Dietrich, Theodora and Leda—enter the competition for personal reasons, only to confront the revived demon god Balor five years later. The true hero, a soul summoned by the goddess Fortuna (also known as Sothis), travels back in time using the new “Fortuna’s Blessing” mechanic to rewrite the heroes’ fates.

Gameplay features include the “Blaz Art” skill that consumes unit HP, alongside the series’ tiered class system, Combat Arts, and new gauntlet-style firearms. Nintendo and Intelligent Systems also announced that the title will support mouse-style controls via the Joy-Con 2 controllers, a first for the series. This allows players to switch between traditional button inputs and intuitive mouse-style navigation for unit movement and interface management.

Pre-orders are live, with a special edition that includes an artbook, steelbook, character cards and a map poster; a limited Dagdanic edition sold out shortly after announcement. A one-minute trailer titled “The Stage Is Set” has been released, and a manga adaptation will debut in September. Nintendo also announced promotional music tracks and a series of developer Q&A sessions ahead of launch.
