Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave launches on Nintendo Switch 2
Nintendo and Intelligent Systems have released Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, a tactical RPG designed for the Nintendo Switch 2. The game features a narrative set in the Dagda Empire, where players navigate four distinct character perspectives—Cai, Dietrich, Theodora, and Leda—to prevent a continental catastrophe involving the demon god Balor.
Mechanically, the title introduces a unique save system. Director Toshiyuki Kusakihara and producer Kenta Nakanishi explained that the game utilizes a single save file to ensure that player experiences across different narrative paths converge. This design allows progress, such as support levels and map exploration, to be preserved and fused, meaning characters grow stronger as players explore multiple routes.
The game also offers a replay system that allows players to return to specific chapters after completing the first part of a route. Additionally, the mobile title Fire Emblem Heroes is hosting a special event to celebrate the release, featuring new playable characters from the console game.
