Fire Forces Suspension of Suburban Trains Between Ano Liosia and Aspropyrgos in Greece

On Saturday, 4 July 2026, a fire broke out near the railway line in western Attica, leading authorities to order an immediate halt to suburban train operations on the Ano LiosiaAspropyrgos section at 12:10.

Hellenic Train also cut electricity on the adjacent Ano Liosia‑Loutropyrgos segment for safety. Train 1312 (Piraeus‑Kiato) was immobilized at Ano Liosia station, while train 1313 (Kiato‑Piraeus) remained at Nea Peramos station.

Passengers were warned of expected delays, possible timetable changes and bus replacements. The company said it is coordinating with the Fire Service and the infrastructure manager OSE to restore normal service as soon as possible.
