Fire in Asbach commercial building quickly extinguished, no injuries

Around 21:10 on Wednesday evening, residents in Asbach noticed smoke and flames from an empty commercial building in the town centre and immediately called the emergency number 112. Firefighters from the Asbach fire department arrived promptly, sent a team under breathing apparatus into the structure, and extinguished the rubbish that was burning. To check for hidden embers, parts of the ceiling were opened and two over‑pressure fans were used to ventilate the building. The operation lasted roughly 1.5 hours, after which the fire was fully put out and no one was injured. Police have opened an investigation into the cause of the blaze.
