Fire Point accelerates deployment of Ukrainian FP-7 ballistic missile

Ukrainian defense company Fire Point is accelerating the development of its FP-7 tactical ballistic missile, with plans for operational combat use as early as late September 2026. CEO Iryna Terekh announced that the missile has successfully completed two of its three testing phases, including ground trials and flight tests, and is currently undergoing military testing for formal adoption by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The FP-7 is a solid-fuel missile with a reported range of 200 to 300 kilometers, a maximum speed of approximately 1,500 m/s, and a warhead capacity of up to 150 kg. Designed as a lower-cost alternative to the American ATACMS system, it is intended for precision strikes against logistics infrastructure, ammunition depots, and troop concentrations within Russian territory.

Fire Point is also working on the FP-9 missile, which features a significantly longer range of up to 850 kilometers. While the FP-7 is nearing deployment, the FP-9 remains in the testing phase. The company noted that the rapid development of these systems, achieved in just over a year, is due to streamlined defense procurement processes in Ukraine during wartime.
