Overview

Ukraine continues to progress the Freyja anti‑ballistic‑missile system, a project involving a coalition of ten countries including Ukraine, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, and Sweden. This delay coincides with a broader €23 billion military budget deficit in Ukraine, caused by advanced expenditures and delays in a €90 billion EU loan disbursement, reportedly hindered by Hungary. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for increased European financial support to address this shortfall.
