Fire Point's FP-7 ballistic missile nears combat deployment
Fire Point, a major Ukrainian defense contractor, is preparing its FP-7 tactical ballistic missile for combat deployment. CEO Iryna Terekh stated that the weapon could be used against targets in Russia within weeks rather than months.
The FP-7 is a ground-launched system capable of reaching targets up to 200 kilometers away. It can carry a warhead weighing up to 150 kilograms and reaches a maximum projectile speed of 1,500 meters per second. The missile has already successfully completed two stages of testing, including laboratory and flight trials.
Additionally, the company is developing the FP-9, a long-range missile with a range of up to 850 kilometers. The FP-9 is currently undergoing flight tests, though its extended range presents greater testing complexities.
