Fire Point to debut Ukrainian ballistic missiles by autumn

Ukrainian defense company Fire Point is preparing to debut its first ballistic missile by this autumn. According to CEO and CTO Iryna Terekh, the FP-7 tactical ballistic missile is currently undergoing a certification process that requires test launches under combat conditions to prove its effectiveness.

Fire Point is developing two primary programs. The FP-7 is a short-range missile with a 200-kilometer range and a 150-kilogram warhead, which is also being adapted for use in air defense systems. Additionally, the company is working on the FP-9, a larger ballistic missile featuring an 800-kilogram warhead and a range of up to 855 kilometers, capable of reaching targets deep within Russia, including Moscow.

The FP-7 is intended to be a component of Freyja, a proposed joint European anti-ballistic defense system. While Fire Point will provide the missiles and launchers, international allies are expected to contribute components such as surveillance and tracking radars. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the mass production of these systems depends on international cooperation for essential components.
