Ukrainian defence startup Fire Point supplies long‑range Flamingo missiles for deep strikes into Russia

Fire Point, Ukraine's leading arms startup founded in 2022, is manufacturing roughly 100 Flamingo cruise missiles each month. The missiles can travel about 1,800 km, carry a 1,150 kg warhead and cost just under $600,000, markedly cheaper than a US Tomahawk. The company also produces FP‑1 and FP‑2 fixed‑wing drones at a rate of hundreds per day, each with a range of more than 1,600 km and a price between $55,000 and $75,000. The drones are being used to target poorly defended Russian oil refineries, cutting output by about 20 % and causing long queues at petrol stations.

Fire Point’s weapons have been employed in daily strike campaigns averaging five to fifteen attacks, including a June hit on a Russian military components factory in Cheboksary, over 960 km from Kharkiv. The startup operates 83 factories across Ukraine and one in Denmark, employing around 6,000 people. Production at scale resumed after a pause caused by delays in the signing of a €90 billion EU loan package to Ukraine.
