Fire Service Association condemns apparent arson at TSTT
The Fire Service Association Second Division is calling for the arrest and prosecution of individuals following an apparent arson attack at the Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT) compound in Laventille. Footage reportedly shows masked individuals setting the premises alight on a Saturday night.
One firefighter from the Wrightson Road Fire Station was hospitalised after sustaining superficial facial injuries and smoke inhalation during the incident. The association has urged the government to strengthen legislation to hold arsonists accountable for injuries or deaths caused to first responders, while also seeking enhanced penalties and compensation provisions for affected emergency personnel.
