Romania faces multiple emergencies from mall fire to severe storms

Romania has experienced several emergency incidents linked to weather and technical failures. In Deva, a shopping mall (Auchan) was evacuated after approximately 360 people self-evacuated and 10 others were removed by firefighters due to heavy smoke caused by a fire in a restaurant's exhaust duct. One person suffered a panic attack during the evacuation.

Severe weather has also caused significant damage across various regions. In Sibiu, strong winds caused a section of a building's roof to collapse onto at least five parked cars. In Hunedoara, storms led to fallen trees blocking roads, flooded yards, and a lightning strike that set a tree on fire in Beriu.

Other notable incidents include a motorcycle accident in Sebeș that left a 66-year-old woman seriously injured, and the establishment of hydration and first aid points in Timișoara to combat ongoing heatwaves.
