Firefighters Contain Brush Fires in Hoppetenzell and Hosenfeld, Germany

On 29 June, firefighters in Hoppetenzell (near Stockach) responded to a roughly 10 m² brush fire at the forest edge. An resident had begun initial extinguishing, and the fire brigade’s rapid attack quickly prevented the fire from spreading. The blaze was fully extinguished, the area was thoroughly wet to prevent rekindling, and police were present but no further action was required.

The following evening, 30 June, around 17:30, rescue services were called to a burning hillside between the villages of Blankenau and Hainzell near Hosenfeld in the Fulda district. Fire crews from four local fire stations, supported by a police patrol, used water and thermal‑imaging equipment to bring the fire under control and to verify that no hot spots remained. The road was temporarily closed for safety, the cause of the fire remains unclear, and no injuries were reported.
