Firefighters in Mexico honor fallen colleagues during Day of the Dead

Firefighting departments in Mexico are holding tributes to honor colleagues who lost their lives in the line of duty.

In Tijuana, members of the Tijuana Fire Department gathered at the Central Station to bid farewell to Ángel Solorio, who passed away on October 27. Solorio served at Station 10 in Playas de Tijuana. His colleagues described him as a professional with a strong vocation for service and a dedicated friend.

In Córdoba, Veracruz, firefighters held a Day of the Dead offering to remember fallen members. A central figure in the tribute was Enrique Rodríguez Silva, who died while attempting to rescue people from a house fire when a roof collapsed on him. To honor his sacrifice, a fire unit has been named in his memory.
