Day of the Dead commemorations in Mexico and Spain
Overview
During the Day of the Dead festivities, various organizations in Mexico and Spain held ceremonies to honor the deceased.
In Mexico, the Twelfth Naval Zone participated in the Puerto Vallarta International Day of the Dead Festival by presenting a traditional naval altar. In Spain, the Spanish Navy scheduled a tribute in Ferrol, presided over by Vice Admiral Vicente Rubio Bolívar, which included a mass, a wreath-laying ceremony, and a rifle salute to honor those who died for the country.
In Mexico, firefighting departments also conducted tributes. In Tijuana, the Tijuana Fire Department gathered to honor Ángel Solorio, a member of Station 10 who passed away on October 27. In Córdoba, Veracruz, firefighters held an offering to remember fallen members, specifically highlighting Enrique Rodríguez Silva, who died during a rescue attempt. A fire unit has been named in his memory.
