Firefighters in North Rhine-Westphalia complete specialized training
Firefighters in North Rhine-Westphalia have completed specialized training programs focused on vegetation fire suppression and technical assistance.
In Herchen, 15 firefighters participated in a multiplier course organized by Waldbrandteam e. V. The program focused on teaching participants how to effectively transfer vegetation fire suppression skills to their own departments. Training covered fire behavior, safety protocols, tactical assessment, and the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI). Participants utilized tools, water and hose systems, and tactical simulators to develop their own instructional concepts.
In the Lennestadt and Kirchhundem regions, trainees successfully completed Module 4 of their basic training, which focused on technical assistance. The curriculum included theoretical studies in statics, mechanics, and electricity, alongside practical exercises in securing and moving loads and responding to traffic accidents. All participants passed the required theoretical and practical performance tests.
