Mayor Francesca Fadda reports Maracalagonis fire contained after four hours

On July 11, a fire broke out in the town of Maracalagonis, province of Cagliari, Sardinia. Mayor Francesca Fadda announced that the blaze was brought under control after roughly four hours. In a Facebook post she thanked the fire brigade, the Barracelli unit, volunteer groups and local residents for their professionalism, courage and cooperation. She also urged citizens to follow official directions, keep roads clear for emergency services and stay away from the affected streets, citing the intense flames along Via San Basilio and Via Fratelli Cervi. The mayor expressed confidence that the community would overcome the incident together.
