Spain sees multiple fires blaze in industrial, forest and transport sites
A large fire broke out at a waste‑management plant in Sant Boi de Llobregat on Sunday. Emergency crews contained the blaze by early afternoon, and no injuries were reported because the facility was empty when the fire started.
In the municipality of Las Herencias in Toledo, a forest fire reported on Tuesday remains active. Ten firefighting units and 38 personnel are engaged, while the burnt area and cause are still under investigation.
A fire near the railway tracks in the comarca of Ribera Alta forced the suspension of Metrovalencia’s Line 1 between L’Alcúdia and Castelló. A replacement bus service has been provided, and the line will stay closed until safety checks are completed.
A residential building fire on Barcelona Avenue in Castellón prompted the evacuation of nearby apartments. Emergency services are treating eight injured people and continue to ventilate the structure while the cause is examined.
In the Catalan comarca of Anoia, a wildfire around the municipality of Carme has scorched roughly 400 ha, threatening an industrial zone in La Pobla de Claramunt. Firefighters are working to contain the flames.
