Fires reported in Tacna and Cuernavaca causing material damage
Separate fire incidents were reported in Tacna, Peru, and Cuernavaca, Mexico, causing significant material damage.
In Tacna, a fire destroyed much of the merchandise at the Abarrotes Cati minimarket. The blaze, located on the first floor of a three-story residence, was reportedly caused by a short circuit from a freezer motor overheating. Three women were rescued from the upper floors by firefighters after being exposed to toxic smoke inhalation.
In Cuernavaca, a fire broke out in an egg storage warehouse at the Adolfo López Mateos Market. While the fire consumed furniture, packaging, and a large amount of merchandise, authorities confirmed there were no injuries or cases of intoxication. Preliminary investigations suggest the cause may have been an electrical short circuit.
