Firjan Senai installs educational quantum computer in Brazil
Firjan Senai has installed the Triangulum II, an educational quantum computer, at its DigiTech center to train students, teachers, and researchers. Developed through a partnership between the Chinese manufacturer SpinQ and the technology company Dobslit, the machine is considered the most modern educational quantum computer in Brazil and is one of only three such units in the country.
Unlike traditional computers that use bits (0 or 1), quantum computing utilizes qubits, which can represent multiple states simultaneously. This allows for the processing of complex calculations that are too slow for classical systems. The initiative aims to prepare professionals for strategic sectors such as logistics, telecommunications, finance, energy, oil and gas, and pharmaceuticals, where quantum technology can accelerate tasks like complex molecular simulation for drug development.
