Fisherman in the Philippines survives octopus attack

Filipino fisherman Jesser Cervantes experienced a dramatic encounter while fishing near Puerto Princesa Island in Palawan. A large octopus latched onto his head and face, wrapping its tentacles around his head and covering his mouth with its suckers.

Video footage of the struggle shows Cervantes attempting to remove the animal multiple times, eventually using a stick to help fight it off. Despite the persistent grip of the octopus, Cervantes eventually succeeded in removing the creature and released it back into the sea. He reportedly escaped the encounter without serious injuries, though the strength of the suction posed a risk of skin damage to his face.
