Mato Grosso tourism fair spotlights Várzea Grande, Canarana and launches tourism credit

The FIT Pantanal 2026 tourism fair took place at the Centro de Eventos do Pantanal in Cuiabá, drawing thousands of visitors. The Várzea Grande pavilion became one of the most visited stands, offering cultural performances, a popular fish broth tasting, a raffle of prizes, and showcasing local agriculture and crafts. Officials including the mayor Flávia Moretti praised the event’s role in promoting the city's cuisine, traditions and business opportunities.

Municipality of Canarana also exhibited at the fair, promoting its title as the world’s sesame capital, local agribusiness products and the region’s biodiversity, highlighted by the rare Cardeal‑do‑Xingu bird. The stand featured traditional sesame biscuits, artisanal works and information on sport fishing and eco‑tourism.

Desenvolve MT used the exhibition to present the Novo Fungetur credit line, a federal‑backed financing program offering up to R$5 million at 5% interest plus INPC for hotels, restaurants, travel agencies and other tourism‑related enterprises. Entrepreneurs and public officials visited the booth to learn about the funding options aimed at strengthening Mato Grosso’s tourism sector.
