Five Albanian suspects arrested after violent robbery in Lignano, Italy
In the early hours of a recent morning, a masked gang forced its way into the Residence Zaccolo on Via Latisana in Lignano Sabbiadoro. The attackers beat the property’s owner, an entrepreneur, and compelled him to hand over roughly €100,000 in cash and jewellery before fleeing.
Private security personnel provided first aid and alerted police. investigators linked the assault to a known “villa theft” gang under surveillance for a series of robberies in the Udine province and a kidnapping in Alzano Lombardo on 6 July. Hours later, carabinieri raids in Orzinuovi, Brescia, resulted in the arrest of five Albanian nationals believed to be members of the gang. A sixth accomplice escaped by leaping from a balcony onto the rooftops.
The coordinated operation highlights the ongoing fight against organized robbery groups in northern Italy.
