Five killed in shooting attack in Harnai, Balochistan

Unidentified armed men opened fire on a group of locals in the Shahrag area of Harnai district, Balochistan, after setting up a picket to check Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs). The indiscriminate shooting left five people dead – Zaman Shah, Zia‑ul‑Haq, Abdul Qahir, Maulvi Zahid Shah, and Ikramullah Shah – and three injured – Nasir Shah, Mullah Samad and Saqib Shah. The victims were taken to Shahrag Hospital before being transferred to Quetta for further treatment.

The attack sparked outrage, leading residents to set the Shahrag police station on fire. Police deployed a heavy contingent to restore order and launched an investigation, though the identity of the gunmen and their motive remain unknown.
