Five Star Movement unveils 124‑page plan to revive Torre Annunziata
On 31 July 2024 the Five Star Movement presented a 124‑page dossier titled “Dossier Torre Annunziata – Traccia di lavoro per un dialogo istituzionale con la Commissione Straordinaria” in the party headquarters in Torre Annunziata. Senator Orfeo Mazzella, vice‑president of the Senate’s 10th permanent commission, introduced the document, which has been forwarded to the Extraordinary Commission that now runs the municipality after the council was dissolved because of alleged mafia infiltration.
The dossier, organized into 24 chapters with annexes, consolidates proposals gathered from residents, committees and local associations. It prioritises public‑space security, urban cleanliness, waste management, and the revitalisation of the city’s main squares. It also proposes a dedicated municipal office to tap national and EU funding, free legal‑rights offices for vulnerable groups, and the use of schools in the afternoons as community hubs, together with measures on housing and employment.
The aim is to implement concrete actions during the commissioner’s administration to set the city on a path of administrative and social renewal.
