Dutch police release identities of five Serbian suspects in TEFAF heist

Dutch authorities have added five Serbian citizens to the European Most Wanted list following a multi-million euro jewelry heist at the TEFAF art fair in Maastricht. The suspects, identified as Aleksandar Cenić (50), Aleksandar Stojiljković (50), Duško Dimitrijević (50), Bratislav Stojanović (41), and Ninoslava Jović (41), are suspected of the June 28, 2022, robbery.

During the incident, the group allegedly used hammers to smash armored display cases, stealing valuables including a necklace valued at 27 million euros. While investigators have recovered three stolen diamonds in Botswana, Israel, and Hong Kong, the primary suspects remain at large. Authorities believe the group may be hiding in Niš or near Belgrade, Serbia.

A reward of 20,000 euros is being offered for information leading to their arrest. The investigation, supported by Europol and Eurojust, utilized decrypted messages from the Sky ECC encrypted communication platform. Investigators also noted a possible connection to a previous attempted robbery at the same fair in March 2020.
