FK Željezničar faces player shortages as registration delays hit first‑round squad

FK Željezničar announced that eleven players will be unavailable for its opening match of the Bosnian Premier League against BSK Banjaluka because the registration and permit process has not been completed. The club said the delay stems from unpaid taxes and contributions for April and May, which were settled on 31 July for a total of 502,715.83 KM, after which the registration procedure was re‑started.

The unavailable players include Yacouba Dabo, Angel Jimenez, Afonso Vitorino, Jorge Guzman, Gabriel Cunha, Marko Karamarko, Giovanni Troupee, as well as injured players Collin Seedorf, Matej Cvetanoski and Armin Hodžić, and Enes Alić who is under disciplinary action. Coach David Muslera listed a revised roster of available players for the match.

Supporters’ group Manijaci issued a statement acknowledging the club’s severe financial situation, noting that Željezničar was previously on the brink of bankruptcy. The group called for restraint and unity, emphasizing that further pressure could destabilise the club during this critical recovery phase.
