Following a 2-0 victory over Independiente del Valle in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores quarterfinals, Flamengo used social media to provoke Palmeiras manager Abel Ferreira. The club posted the single word “Desfrutem” (Enjoy) on X, referencing a recent comment made by the Portuguese coach.

Ferreira had previously told Palmeiras supporters to “enjoy” the club's recent period of success following a draw against Botafogo in the Campeonato Brasileiro. The comment drew criticism from some Palmeiras fans, leading Ferreira to issue an apology, stating he was agitated after an intense match and had said things he did not truly feel.

Flamengo's victory provides them with an advantage heading into the second leg of the Libertadores quarterfinals, which will be held at the Maracanã. The club's next scheduled match is against Corinthians in the Brasileirão.
