Flash floods hit Kedah and Selangor following heavy rain
Heavy rainfall has triggered flash floods across multiple regions in Malaysia, affecting residents in Kedah and Selangor.
In the Kubang Pasu district of Kedah, continuous heavy rain led to flooding in Kampung Baru and Kampung Tradisi within Mukim Temin. As a result, 26 residents from eight families were evacuated to the Dewan Lembah Keriang temporary relief center. Local authorities, including the Civil Defence Force (APM) and the Social Welfare Department (JKM), coordinated the evacuation and assisted residents in moving belongings to safety.
Simultaneously, flash floods were reported in several areas within Selangor, including Subang, Ara Damansara, Kota Damansara, and Subang Bestari. Rapidly rising water levels affected major routes near the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport and the USJ7 LRT station, causing traffic disruptions and forcing some motorists to halt their journeys. Authorities have advised the public to remain vigilant regarding weather developments and to move to safer locations if residential areas become unsafe.
