FLC Group partners with US HAS Development to upgrade Gia Lai airports

Vietnamese conglomerate FLC Group and U.S.-based HAS Development Corporation (HASDC) signed a framework agreement on July 22 to study public‑private partnership investments for upgrading Phu Cat and Pleiku airports in Gia Lai province. The deal, signed in Hanoi, follows a July 10 provincial approval that allows FLC to explore PPP models for expanding the two Central Highlands airports.

HASDC brings more than 25 years of experience in airport privatisation and concession projects across Central and South America, and will collaborate with FLC to assess investment options, improve capacity and service quality, and attract international capital. The agreement marks an initial study phase and does not constitute a final investment decision. Representatives from Boeing Vietnam, the US‑ASEAN Business Council and consulting firms attended the signing.

The partnership aims to boost regional economic development, create jobs, and enhance Vietnam’s aviation infrastructure by applying internationally recognised standards.
