Flipkart to create 250,000 seasonal jobs in India

Flipkart has announced the creation of more than 250,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities across India to meet demand during the 2026 festive season. Approximately 75,000 of these roles, or nearly 30 per cent, are expected to be filled by individuals entering the workforce for the first time.

The hiring initiative spans over 7,000 Ekart facilities, including fulfillment centers, sortation hubs, and last-mile delivery operations. Last-mile delivery represents the largest portion of the expansion, accounting for roughly 140,000 opportunities, or 60 per cent of the total. To support this, the company is adding more than 900 festive delivery hubs to accommodate rising demand in Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets and the expansion of its quick-commerce service, Flipkart Minutes.

Flipkart noted that women now represent more than 20 per cent of its supply chain workforce, and the company reported increased participation of persons with disabilities in warehouse and delivery roles. The company is also working with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship to create career pathways within the sector.
