Flooding impacts Ramkhamhaeng and Khlong Tan areas in Bangkok
Severe flooding has impacted the Ramkhamhaeng and Khlong Tan areas in Bangkok, specifically affecting Ramkhamhaeng University and the Sports Authority of Thailand. On September 27, heavy rainfall exacerbated the situation, causing water levels to rise to chest height in some locations and submerging numerous vehicles. Residents were seen rushing to purchase essential supplies such as fresh food, eggs, and instant noodles.
By September 28, water levels began to recede, though some areas still experienced standing water of approximately 30 centimeters. While businesses and public transport services have started to resume, drainage remains slow because water levels in Khlong Saen Saep are currently at the canal banks. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration is operating water pumps 24 hours a day to clear the remaining floodwater, provided no further heavy rainfall occurs.
