Flooding in Malaysia forces evacuations in Perak and Sabah

Flooding in Malaysia has led to multiple evacuations across Perak and Sabah. In Perak, 58 residents from 17 families were moved to two temporary evacuation centers (PPS) in the Hilir Perak and Larut, Matang, and Selama districts. The PPS at Kampung Degong Community Hall and the Kampung Menteri Mosque are currently housing those affected.

In Penampang, Sabah, 118 victims from 41 families have been relocated to four temporary evacuation centers following continuous heavy rain. The Moyog River has reached a critical level of 9.12 meters, surpassing the danger threshold. The flooding has impacted 15 villages, and while 12 roads are currently submerged, they remain passable. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
